Development of a lighting masterplan for the public realm of the largest public space in the City of Liverpool.
The Pier Head is a UNESCO world heritage site. The masterplan needed to integrate the public realm surrounding the new Leeds to Liverpool Canal, the new Museum of Liverpool Project, the Three Graces, the new Mann Island development as well as new ferry and liner terminals.
Graham Festenstein Lighting Design went on to undertake detailed design for the Pier Head public realm.
The Pier Head Public Realm project won the Landscape Insitutes Masterplanning and Urban Design catagory in 2010; RIBA CABE Public Space Award 2010; LGN Street Design Award - Waterways 2010.
